Thanks again go out to the iPhone Dev Team for providing this amazing, and FREE program for
customizing the iPad. You can visit their website here,
and their blog article about this jailbreak
This is not an unlocking guide! This tutorial assumes you only need to jailbreak. I can not
possibly imagine a situation in which your iPhone is already set up to be unlocked but isn't
jailbroken yet. If you are that exception, then use this tutorial. Otherwise, if you require an
unlock then don't use this tutorial! Seek out one of my PwnageTool tutorials instead.
First back up iPhone so no important data is lost. Next either use iTunes to download the necessary
firmware or download 4.3.3 firmware directly from the following links:
For iPhone 3G S: http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-1009.20110503.M73Yr/iPhone2,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw
- For iPhone 4 AT&T and factory unlocked iPhones: http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-1011.20110503.q7fGc/iPhone3,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw

If your downloaded firmware file ends in .zip, rename it to end in .ipsw. Note: Safari likes to open
"safe" files by default. You must turn this feature off for this download to work correctly. Click
"Safari", select "Preferences", from the "Geneal" tab uncheck the box that says "Open "safe" files
after downloading". Otherwise just use Firefox to download this firmware file.
You should have an icon similar to this on your desktop now.
Set up your Wi-Fi connection (or use your 3G) and launch Safari. Go to jailbreakme.com. Press the
More Information button if you'd like to learn more about jailbreaking. When you are ready to
jailbreak, press the FREE button. Now press the INSTALL button.
You'll see the Cydia icon and the installation progress bar. It should take less than one minute to
do this. Once it has finished you're jailbroken!
If you would like to patch your iPhone from the vulnerability you just used to jailbreak the device,
then you should use Cydia to install PDF Patcher 2. Installing this will have no impact on your
jailbreak. Should you need to jailbreak again, simply remove the PDF Patcher 2 program, or restore
your iPhone to the appropriate firmware and repeat Step 2.
Launch Cydia. Make your selection at this screen and press the Done button. After about two minutes
you'll see this screen. If you see the line SHSH followed by a series of numbers and letters at the
top of the screen it means you are able to indefinitely restore to any of those firmwares. More on
this later. Press the Search button at the bottom of the screen.
Note: You may receive a prompt regarding essential upgrades. Press the upgrade essential button and
confirm the installation on the next screen. This may be for the 8J3 iPhone x,x JailbreakMe 3.0.
Press the Return to Cydia button when it has completed and continue with these instructions.
Enter pdf. Select PDF Patcher 2. Press Install.
Press Confirm. Press the Reboot Device button, and you're done.

then I highly suggest you read
