iPhone firmware 3.x tutorials

I think everyone should start out by reading a summary page called "Read me first". It will let you know what jailbreaking is all about, and give you some examples of why you might want to do it. It will also go into depth on which of the Step 1 tutorials is right for you. It will also explain a little more about what is on this website, and provide some reminders about what could happen should you not follow the instructions provided here carefully.

Consider supporting the site. You wouldn't believe the amount of time it takes to maintain this information on a constant basis - much less for three generations of iPhones. I've been doing this since June of 2007 (very few websites can make that claim).

If everyone that visited this site on a daily basis offered a penny (and that whole penny made it to me) in return for the valuable information they found here, this site would be even more amazing.

I know times are tough. I currently earn little more than minimum wage until I can regain employment in the industry I belong in. Every penny really does help. You don't even have to donate to help. I don't want to sound like a PBS commercial here, but I get quite a bit of e-mail about this, and everyone thinks the other person will help out. There is no other person. Less than one percent of my daily traffic supports this site. This was the driving force behind the elimination of Windows tutorials.

The Start here menu contains the jailbreaking and unlocking guides for the 2G, 3G, and 3G S iPhones. As new firmwares in the 3.x series are released, I will continue to add new Step 1 guides for these new firmwares. Apple released many firmwares in the 1.x, and 2.x series, so expect to see the Start here menu chock full of Step 1 guides as time goes by. Make sure to use the one for the firmware you are on or want to be on. The bulk of the modding tutorials are in the Hacking menu.

Explore all the menu buttons on this site. I have compiled a treasure trove of information here and I know the majority of visitors don't realize there is a lot more here than just an unlocking guide. You can see my deprecated tutorials for 1.x, and 2.x firmware in the Miscellaneous menu.

Everything on this site is free! I never charge for anything. If you have been redirected here from a website that charged you money, then you were ripped off! Also, I will not provide any support for these predatory sites. Seek help directly from the company you paid money to, not me.

Keep in mind should you get into trouble, I do offer repair services for a fee. Click here to learn more. I do not provide any e-mail support at all (unless you donate first), I do not have the free time. I recommend a forum for help.

Happy hacking!
