Fixing YouTube

(Windows XP / Vista)

Even after completing the Step 1 guide, YouTube sometimes does not function for some people. The only other solution I know of, besides any fix files on the Installer application, is to use SSH to repair YouTube.

Step 1.

Download the YouTube fix files here.

Step 2.

Start WinSCP and navigate to the YouTube3Files folder on the left and to /var/root/Library/Lockdown on the right. This is what my folder looked like on the iPhone. If your folder looks different, that's fine.




If you have an "activation_records" folder great. Go into the folder, and delete any files inside. Go back up one level.

If you have a "pair_records" folder great. Go into the folder, and delete any files inside. Go back up one level.


Go to the "YouTube fix" folder on the left and copy over all three files into the right side folder. Click "Copy" at the first pop up and "Yes to All" at the second pop up.




Restart the iPhone and test YouTube. It should now work. If it doesn't, the only other possible thing I can think of that would give you problems would be the lockdownd file on the iPhone.
