I'm going to introduce you to a couple programs for transferring files between your iPhone and your Mac. The programs are DiskAid, iExplorer and PhoneView. They all offer trial versions. I am only writing about these programs to make you aware of them. I receive nothing from the programs' developers. I am only going to provide very superficial information on the programs as I don't write product reviews. Explore the programs as they are very helpful and easy to use.

DiskAid is an iPhone file transfer software that gives access to the iOS file system using a USB connection or via Wi-Fi. DiskAid transfers music and video from any iPhone, iPod or iPad right back to the iTunes library or any location on the computer.

DiskAid also transfers text messages (SMS), contacts, notes, voicemail, call history and voice memos to computer. It enables to use your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch as an external mass storage device and with an iPhone file browser like FileApp installed, files and documents can easily being accessed on the device.

DiskAid can transfer any kind of data to the iOS file system, including to specific Apps for viewing documents or watching movies for example. Therefore we offer a very robust and handy file system for the iPhone and iPad called FileApp.

FileApp will let you browse and manage files and folders on the device and will read all files types natively supported by iOS devices, such as PDF and Microsoft Office documents and will play MP3 music files or MP4 movies.

DigiDNA offers this program for both Macintosh and Windows users here. DiskAid supports all iPhones and up to iOS 7. You can download FileApp here.

iExplorer lets you easily transfer music from any iPhone, iPod or iPad to a computer and iTunes. View, export and archive your messages and attachments. The iExplorer SMS client looks great and even works with group messages, images, and other message attachments too!

iExplorer's disk mounting features allow you to use your iPhone, iPod or iPad like a USB flash drive. You can view your iPhone's photos directly in Finder or Windows Explorer like you would from any other digital camera. You're also able to get file system access to data contained within the apps or other directories on your device.

Want to back up or move your games' high scores from one device to another? How about saving files directly to or from your favorite file manager such as iExplorer's iOS App Awesome Files? iExplorer can do all of that and more.

View your appointments, calendar events, and your call history. Listen to your iPhone's voicemail messages and export them to a folder on your computer. Everything is always just a couple of clicks away. Be in charge of your content.

With iExplorer, you can access more files and folders without modifying (jailbreaking) your device than ever before. Need to access photos on your iPhone or iPod? Can do. Want to access the files and folders of your device's apps? Done. How about browsing through your iTunes backups? Check. What about the media folders containing your iTunes purchases? We've got that too. What about files in apps that are synced to iCloud? Yes, even that.

iExplorer also works great if your iPhone is Jailbroken. With AFC2 access, the app can read and write to the iOS device's real root (For advanced users only!).

View and search your texts and multimedia messages, even when your iPhone isn't connected to your Mac. PhoneView automatically backs up your messages whenever your iPhone is connected. Messages can be exported as beautiful PDF files, text or XML.

PhoneView provides full access to your iPhone's voicemail messages. Click to play or send them right to iTunes. What's more, PhoneView will automatically archive your voicemail messages for offline listening. (Requires Visual Voicemail.) View, search and export your iPhone's recent calls, even when your iPhone isn't connected to your Mac. PhoneView automatically backs up your call log each time your iPhone is connected.

Browse, manage and download most any data saved by App Store apps from your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. If you're looking for a quick way to download saved recordings, videos or images from your apps, this is it. Even transfer game high scores between devices.

Drag Mac files and folders in and out of PhoneView. It's that easy. Data is copied to and from your iPhone or iPad's storage memory via high-speed USB. Even access app data for certain apps such as Air Sharing and GoodReader!

Need to grab contacts from an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch? PhoneView displays your entire contact list organized by contact group. Simply drag contacts to the Desktop to save V-card files or send contacts directly to your Mac OS X Address Book.

PhoneView gives you quick, simple access to your Mobile Safari bookmarks and web history. It even shows you the browser windows currently open on your iPhone. Easily pick up where you left off browsing upon returning home to your Mac.

Download camera photos and movies in just a few clicks. You can even use PhoneView to export the iPhone's synced Photo Library if you've lost the originals.

Download it here.
